AARP Foundation Experience Corps is an intergenerational volunteer-based tutoring program proven to help children who are not reading at grade level become great readers by the end of third grade.We inspire and empower adults age 50 and older to serve in their community and disrupt the cycle of poverty by making a lasting difference in the lives of America's most vulnerable children.

Summary

Our Education and Evaluation Team is looking for you! Our team is responsible for building knowledge and sharing content that supports a network of 22 programs nationwide.

Responsibilities

The position will work with the technology advisor to the national office staff, local program staff, and volunteer network on all things related to technology, data collection, and reporting. The person taking on this position will have primary responsibility for supporting the design and implementation of technological solutions impacting growth, accurate data collection, and reporting. The position requires organization, efficiency, and the ability to leverage technical skills.

Responsibilities
* Document technological solutions for streamlining data workflows and data system processes
* Assist with identifying best practices for proper use of data tools across EC network
* Support EC network with troubleshooting, monitoring and reporting data for EC Volunteer App
* Assist in the implementation of training resources for ongoing technical support to national office, branch, and affiliate staff
* Organize and support request for technical assistance with data systems
* Participate in the design of new data collection technology
* Participate in the design of new cloud-based technology

On an average day, you might:

  • Contribute to App development by managing volunteer feedback on the app, logging app user errors, conducting user-testing or generating reports on app performance
  • Help track data in a Salesforce environment (Foundation Impact System, or FIS, tasks)
  • Provide user support by developing new support tools and resources (FIS data dictionary/key), assisting with data migrations
  • Generating new resources and managing existing resources through Form Assembly.

Requirements

Prospective interns must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students; and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship.

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program.

Requirements specific to this opportunity:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with Salesforce
  • Ability to learn quickly through accessing a variety of resources, such as existing documentation and online resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience in managing digital content across web-based platforms is preferred
