Job Description

We are actively seeking an Assembly Supervisor to join our team in Benson, MN.

Responsibilities include:

Manage and direct a core team of people to meet quality and productivity targets necessary to achieve customer satisfaction.

Manage daily takt time to meet production goals. Monitor employee productivity and provide constrictive feedback and coaching. Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.

Maintain rewards and recognition process for the department.

Hire and oversee training of new employees.

Communicate objectives and other necessary information to employees via written postings and employee standup meetings.

Understand, support and drive quality initiatives.

Forge working relationships with peers.

Manage time and attendance software including vacation schedule, sick calls and employee coverage.

Set and track performance goals and deadlines in ways that meet the company's vision. Compile, track and act on trends using KPIs and KAIs for specific areas.

Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand.

Follows established procedures and drives continuous improvement in the plant's manufacturing processes, including fabrication, welding, paint and/or assembly. Participate and lead continuous improvement activities using WCM methodology and tools.

Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.

Other related duties as assigned.

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree plus  2 or more years of experience in a role to include manufacturing and assembly experience
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, will also consider those with a High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in a role to include manufacturing and assembly experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong assembly background
  • Working knowledge of equipment and tools used in plant
  • Past supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement exposure
  • Proficiency in various systems, i.e. eTime, Excel, Word, Outlook, Alstar
  • General understanding of MRP/ERP, Shopfloor scheduling
  • Ability to read prints and SOPs
  • Understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Experience maintaining and operating on a budget
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Experience with takt times
  • Able to identify training needs and deliver necessary training
  • Experience building and managing schedules
