Principal Associate, Agile Delivery Lead
We are looking for a passionate Agile Delivery Lead that will help drive delivery across teams of talented engineers who build an intuitive, cloud based, enterprise scale Machine Learning Platforms to support our Data Science and Machine Learning communities.
In the Agile Delivery Lead role, you'll ensure your teams' delivery success by leveraging the appropriate Agile methodology to enable predictable, quality delivery while maintaining a focus on the continuous improvement of the team. The Agile Delivery Lead will optimize team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes on the team.
Responsibilities:
Delivery
Ensures teams maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery
Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
Be well managed - understand and coach the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational, and reputational risk
Understands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management
Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
Supports team's automation (testing, pipelines, deployments)/DevOps journey
Take initiative and act as a leader to foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues
Cross team delivery
Mastery of complex facilitation and dependency management techniques (cross team, cross department)
Drive cross team, ART and departmental impediments, planning, collaboration, and coordination
Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc) to identify areas of opportunity
Work across stakeholders and teams to continuously improve
Understand domain architecture and upstream/downstream dependencies
Demonstrate the ability to understand the business context and leverage that context to manage risk and prioritize the team's work
Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments
Help establish governance structure where decision-making is weighted toward empowered teams
Coaching
Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products
Coaches Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization
Utilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve
Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery
Developing understanding and encouragement of team's engineering innovation and improvement (engineering practices, DevOps, etc.)
Coaches the team to improve collaboration and self-organization
Agile and Technical Learning: Actively seeks and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training, and independent study to further develop self and community
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years of Agile experience
At least 2 years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of Agile experience
4+ years of GitHub experience
2+ years of experience with Jira
Experience with multiple Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, DSDM)
Experience running multiple Agile teams simultaneously (2-3 teams)
Experience with modern engineering and DevOps practices
Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI's Agile Certified Professional (ACP)
SAFe certified (or other scaled agile frameworks)
