Research Lead

This position will considered at the Manager level only. This role is part of our Integrated Experience (IX) Design team where we navigate the flood of information to surface understanding, reveal human insights and illuminate hidden opportunities. Our opportunity is to create a better relationship with data. To make data work for people instead of people work for data-to serve better understanding from data. We will serve the end-to-end lifecycle of data-deeply understanding how people USE data and how we can enhance that workflow.

We're seeking a research lead who is passionate about the field of user experience research in a digital product environment, has led large-scale research projects, and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will be leading qualitative and quantitative studies during all phases of the design process, from discovery and definition to tracking in-market metrics. In addition to leading research studies yourself, you will also provide coaching and guidance to UX designers and junior researchers who are conducting research to assure a high bar of research rigor is met across all workstreams. Finally, you will work closely with the design lead and product and tech partners to turn research insights into strategic recommendations for the future of the products and platforms we build.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with designers, other researchers, and product teams to identify and prioritize research questions based on analysis of current knowledge, project goals and risks

  • Conduct empathy interviews, quantitative and qualitative user testing and analysis throughout the product lifecycle

  • Utilize research findings to drive requirements, personas, user stories and use cases.

  • Conduct concept and usability testing and analysis of results

  • Leverage analytics tools and techniques to measure success, present opportunities, and support decision-making and prioritization? for in market experiences

  • Collaborate with the team to facilitate strategic decisions and define product and project roadmap based on research findings

  • Effectively and intelligently influence the iteration of products and services by pinpointing key data points from research

  • Actively monitor and analyze research, data, and trends from internal sources, academic research, and industry published reports to inform and improve our research methodology

  • Apply problem-solving skills to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

  • Present and communicate research and analysis clearly and effectively to various organizations and audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in User Experience Research

  • At least 5 years of experience with design thinking tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, HCI or related field

  • Experience working with data

  • 7+ years of experience with a digital product & services company

  • 7+ years of experience in UX Research

  • 2+ years of people management experience
