What you should know about an internship at Aprilaire:

    Summer internships typically start at the beginning of the summer break and end by the time you go back to school in the fall. Internships may also be available during the school year. We can be flexible with start and end times based on your individual circumstances.
  • Internships are full-time, Monday through Friday during typical business hours.
  • This is a paid internship.

  • Our dress code is “dress for the day,” which means you can wear more casual attire to work.

Responsibilities

As Industrial Engineering Intern, you will work with the Process Engineering team in our Poynette, Wisconsin production facility.  In this role, you will:

  • Perform time and motion studies
  • Create and update SOPs/Work Instructions to document standard processes
  • Create and update process documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, and change control documents
  • Assist in updating existing production layouts using AutoCad
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement projects
  • Assist in creating and maintaining production reporting tools
  • Assist in creating visual management systems for sub-assemblies and raw materials using Kanban principles
Qualifications

  • Student currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering program preferred; entering junior or senior year
  • Knowledge of Lean tools such as Time/Motion Study, 5S, Kanban, Standardization
  • Motivated to identify waste, propose improvements, and lead / support project implementation
  • Proficiencies in: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Good communication skills; verbal, written and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must be detail oriented, team player, flexible and self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
