National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) has an opening for a Market Research and Analysis Manager in Washington, DC.

Job Duties: Lead the development, implementation, and analysis of research projects concerning customers of Amtrak trains and services as well as the travel market at large. Ensure all phases of qualitative (focus groups, mini-groups, triads, dyads, in-depth interviews, etc.) and quantitative (survey) research projects are executed properly to support strategic product development and marketing/advertising efforts at a national level. Oversee data gathered on consumer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits. Perform qualitative and quantitative market research projects to benchmark and support service quality initiatives for all Amtrak trains. Conduct market research efforts to support strategic investments and tactical/transportation planning initiatives for Amtrak trains nationwide. Manage market research projects and measure their effectiveness to deliver insightful and actionable recommendations to guide successful marketing, communications, and product development initiatives to increase ridership and ticket revenues. Monitor consumer/marketplace trends to support service development and marketing efforts. Manage vendors to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget. Manage internal databases to support market research projects, direct mail initiatives, and ad hoc queries.

Requirements: Employer will accept Master's degree in Marketing, Mathematics or Statistics or related field; and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 3 years of work experience in a related occupation. Position requires: 1) 24 months in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders or clients for different projects; 2) 24 months in managing multiple projects at the same time; 3) 24 months in continuous process improvement management and implementing changes at broader organizational level; 4) Monitoring flags, anticipating problems, and addressing problems before or as soon as they arise; 5) 24 months in providing leadership and guidance to third party service providers; 6) 24 months in taking initiatives for and leading cross-functional projects; 7) 24 months in market research strategy and planning; 8) 24 months in Data analysis using Advanced Excel; 9) Reporting using Tableau; 10) 24 months in writing and presenting research results or new proposals to executive level; 11) 24 months in writing requests for proposals; 12) Manage multiple programs and delegate leadership to specific project managers. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
