Job Description
Join Cardno's Science and Environment team in Santa Barbara, CA to play an integral role in reviewing of utility projects for potential environmental impacts and collaboration with a large interdisciplinary team of scientists to complete clearances on a timely basis.

Job Description:

Cardno is seeking Wildlife Biologists for our Sacramento, CA or Walnut Creek, CA offices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

> Obtain clearance through client background check to access online system (upon employment).
> Comply with all Cardno and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use.
> Review client requests for environmental clearance to ensure they provide adequate information.
> Conduct desktop reviews for environmental clearance work and ensure proper reviews and/or Cardno staff or subcontractors according to client schedule complete surveys.

> Coordinate with Cardno, subcontractor, and client staff to ensure surveys and monitoring are conducted according to client guidance.
> Engagement in the process and willingness to identify process improvements to provide benefit to our client.

> Complete desktop reviews to determine appropriate levels and types of environmental reviews needed for new projects.

Basic Qualifications:

> 0-3 years of consulting experience, 2-5 preferred
> Bachelor degree (or higher) in biology, ecology, environmental studies or related field.

> Experience with land planning

> Excellent oral and written communication.
> Outgoing personality to network with Cardno and subcontractor staff.
> Strongly proficient in computer software including Excel, MS word, and various Cardno and client systems.
> Strong quantitative skills.
> Self-motivated; strong initiative.
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines.
> Willingness to travel and work in a variety of field conditions within California for multiple weeks at a time.
> Must be physically fit and able to navigate rugged conditions on foot (day and night surveys may be required).

> Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

> GIS (Arc View)
> Experience with desktop analysis for determination of field survey needs for projects
> Field survey experience including for wildlife/ plant species/ wetlands
