Job Description

The Product Development Leader at CNH Industrial America LLC in Davenport, Iowa will manage the cross functional teams involved in different programs of Combine and Cotton Harvesters to align company goals and customers’ needs. Provide support for the development of new products and track program target achievements related to product material cost, total manufacturing cost, GPD milestones, timing and quality KPI’s. Lead the product development process and manage resources for the core platform teams. Track and report status of risk management.  Develop global product development methodologies and apply continuous improvement strategies according to product cost and quality targets. Collaborate with CNH Industrial in China, India, Brazil and Europe to develop products that meet each market needs. Lead, supervise and review the work of product design engineers to ensure efficiency and timely completion of specific project milestones within required budgetary guidelines. Evaluate incoming field reports and determine appropriate response with the goal of assisting the customer with support or containment of a product failure. Prepare data and documentation for project status and field issues for review with the chief engineer, platform manager, director and executive management team. Provide final design responsibility with regards to durability, reliability and functional performance for the current product solution and ensure the design is meeting all international homologation and safety requirements. Oversee the development of validation plans in collaboration with Design Analysis and Product Validation teams. Collaborate with marketing, product management, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to ensure project plan execution. Manage the performance of the products engineering team and assist with individual performance development planning. Identify staffing needs and assist with hiring decisions in cooperation with the Chief Engineer. Acquire and manage outsourced engineering resources. Work with the Chief Engineer and other managers to reallocate internal resources as required. Create budgets, forecasts and capital equipment requirements with economic justifications linked to design and development activities. 10% travel required to domestic and international locations.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field plus 5 years of experience coordinating engineered design for agricultural equipment company. 

 

The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: global Product development for different markets around the world, including budgeting, resources planning, concept and design execution; product validation, including the development and execution of vehicle validation plans and functional development for feeding, threshing, separation, cleaning and residue systems of Combine Harvesters; localization of components for Agricultural equipment products, including local material analysis and correlation to company global standards, quality requirements and cost to maintain company profitability targets; product Life Management software, PRO-E/CREO, and VisMockup; and Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and v lookups. 

 

Must also have 2 years of experience with each of the following: budget and resources management and program management and financial model analysis.
