Apex Companies - a national Environmental Consulting and Services Firm and a California-licensed Third Party Operator, seeks a part-time, dual-licensed wastewater and drinking water system operator to join our team in Red Bluff, California.

The successful candidate will share operation and maintenance (O&M) responsibility for a private wastewater and drinking water treatment and distribution system. A California Grade III WWTP Operator license and D2/T2 Drinking Water System license is required.

This is a great opportunity for an active Operator to moonlight, or a recent retiree to keep the skills and certifications achieved through his career fresh, with a flexible, part-time schedule.

The successful candidate will report directly to an Apex Senior Licensed Professional Engineer with decades of experience designing, operating, and maintaining compliance for wastewater and drinking water infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities as a Waste Water Operator:

• Lead a diverse portfolio of environmental projects.
• Perform general maintenance of drinking water and wastewater treatment plant.
• Troubleshoot pumps and repairs.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.

What we're looking for:

• Current California Grade III Wastewater License.
• Current California D2/T2 Drinking Water License.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience providing WWTP and DW System O&M services.
• Able to troubleshoot under pressure and find effective solutions.
• Knowledge of electrical repairs and testing, plumbing and pump repair and operation, water sampling and wastewater sampling.
• A valid driver's license and own transportation are required.
• The ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces and work under inclement weather conditions, stable employment history, favorable employment references, and a track record of excellent attendance and punctuality are also required.
