A²I is seeking a self-motivated, mission-focused Software Engineer who is ready to solve some of the most challenging technical problems in a fast-paced and agile environment.  The role of the Software Engineer is to design, implement, maintain Windows applications or systems based on government-driven requirements to collect, process, and/or disseminate data.

As part of a team, your role will include:

Contributing to system-level design in order to optimize overall system performance and reliability
• Translating design into computer software
• Test, debug, and refine computer software to produce the required product
• Preparing both program-level and user-level documentation
• Enhancing software to reduce operating times or improve efficiency
• Providing full lifecycle support for software including user interaction.

Work Location:  The primary location is Newington, VA; Quantico, VA; Stafford, VA; or Chantilly, VA. 

Minimum Education: The Software Engineer Software Engineer should have a bachelor’s degree in one Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Systems from an accredited university/college. We may consider candidates without the requisite bachelor's degree if they possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in relevant areas, or related fields, have demonstrated development proficiency and/or advanced knowledge of computer programming and development systems and security practices.

Minimum Experience: The Software Engineer must have five (5) years of technical experience as a Windows developer. The Software Engineer must demonstrate experience in deriving design specification for functional activities and have the ability to develop, troubleshoot, and test complex software to satisfy design objectives. The Software Engineer must have experience in multi-tier software design and application; the use of object-oriented programming languages, such as C, C#, and Java; and database design and implementation, preferably with SQL server.

Desired skills:  It is preferred that the Software Engineer have experience with REST service or Web server experience and experience in service/system interconnectivity in an enterprise environment.

Clearance Requirement:  Active Top Secret (TS) clearance is required.
