MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Forklift Utility Operator is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the process plant in assisting and supporting the operation to effectively maintain a steady flow of municipal solid waste (MSW) through the process lines in the production of refuse derived fuel (RDF).

Must be able to operator a forklift.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spots incoming waste trucks and directs dumping location on the tipping floor.
  • Inspects incoming waste material for non-processable material.
  • Cleans and removes dirt and debris from equipment, floors, buildings, driveways, etc.
  • Operates forklift and other equipment as required in the maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, or his or her designee.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have successfully completed all demonstrations in the current Utility Operator's Job Skill Demonstration Manual, and have successfully completed review to ensure that he or she is qualified to accept and assume the responsibilities of the position.
  • Must have completed training and obtained Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
  • Must be able to pass Respirator Fit Testing on a daily basis.
  • Must have a mimimum of a high school diploma or equivlant.
