FAM Construction, LLC is a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman and Allan Myers. Ferrovial has been active in the North American transportation industry since 1999. Together they have been awarded the Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project, this project involves multi-modal improvements to 22.5 miles of I-66 corridor from I-495 in Fairfax County to University Boulevard in Prince William County. The project features two express lanes alongside three regular lanes in each direction, with space in the median for future transit; corridor-wide bike and pedestrian improvements; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges throughout the corridor.

Role Summary

The position of Motor Grader Operator operates self-propelled grader to grade specification in highway construction.

• Scrap and level dirt

• Mix materials
• Shape and blade sub grades
• Balance and rough shaping of base course materials
• Operate to fine grade specifications
• Fine grade horizontal surfaces, shoulders and slopes
• Utilize automatic grade control system. Absolutely Required knowledge and experience on GPS and 3D Systems for fine grading
• Dressing of shoulders and slopes
• Demonstrate the ability to lead a crew and delegate work within work scope
• Understand production and quantity requirements
• Schedule work and maintain production
• Understand basic survey nomenclature
• Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts Proper pre-start and daily Maintenance Including lubrication
• Keep equipment clean and well maintained
• Notify supervisor if equipment needs repair
• Tire pressure checks
• Monitor all engine gauges
• Operating skills in blade control

Must have 5 years on heavy civil works operation Motor Graders. Preferred 10+ years

Must have CAT graders last generation (joystick not levers). Equipment to be used CAT12/14 3M

Must have 3D/GPS control systems. Trimble preferred.

Open to work 60+ hours weekly shifts including Saturdays and Sundays (occasionally when needed due to weather)
