Position Description Summary:

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time (9 or 12-month), non-tenure track faculty position. The School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) is the 11th oldest medical school in the country and the first in the nation's capital. Since its establishment, the School has been at the forefront of healthcare education and it has grown to include highly ranked programs in the health sciences and biomedical research. Our location provides unmatched opportunities to engage with nearby governmental and non-profit agencies and organizations. Appointment will be made at the rank of assistant professor at a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Total compensation also includes a generous benefits package.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching, student advising, service and scholarship. Teaching responsibilities will include participation in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Program providing teaching general chemistry and physics courses. Duties in the program may include assessing student learning outcomes, advising students and service to the program through admissions and other program committees. Engaging in scholarly activities, providing service to the SMHS and the department, and advancing inter-professionalism and collaborative practices are also expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate degree conferred by date of appointment in a related field and teaching experience in physics and chemistry.
