Arranges travel plans and programs for all company employees. Organizes cost effective domestic and international travel itineraries, lodgings, and car rentals. Communicates pertinent information to employees and resolves any scheduling issues. Works with finance and accounting department to ensure that travel arrangements remain within budget. Operates under general supervision.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  1. Traveling and continually negotiating with lodging providers for "best pricing" and corporate rates for lodging in support of business unit requirements, costs and benefits.
  2. Managing the operations, contracts and cost allocations for MDC Travel Europe.
  3. Maintaining a 24/7 direct service line point of contact with servicing travel agents. Service provided after hours, weekends and holidays.

  5. Reviews, recommends, establishes and updates corporate wide travel center performance metrics.
  6. Works within company budgetary guidelines to leverage spending and authorizations to maintain zero profitability.
  7. Writing travel procedures and identifies and shares best practices and business processes.
  8. Continually seeking strategic initiatives to explore cutting edge travel technologies.
  9. Oversees the customer request for current per diem and federally applied travel rates provided by the Joint Travel Regulations and Office of Allowances, Dept of State.
  10. Reviews on-line expenses for all travel and negotiates annual RFP's for rental cars, lodging and airline travel.
  11. Approves all travel requests before it's disbursed for payment.
EDUCATION
  1. 11-13 years of experience working as a Travel Manager in a government contracting or corporate environment with an Associate's degree
  2. 8-10 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree
  3. 6-8 years of experience with a Master's degree
LICENSE
  1. Licensed (CTA) Certified Travel Associate
  2. Licensed (CTC) Certified Travel Counselor required
  3. Previous travel agency experience or certificate preferred
ABILITIES
  1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
