Job Title: Network Engineer

Job Location: Dumfries VA

Description: Provide the technical expertise to implement strategies, evaluate products, and build upon an infrastructure that supports our current and future customers. In this role, you will work with complex systems, designing, developing, and integrating them at every stage of its life cycle. We are looking for reliable Engineer to deliver mission-critical infrastructure with an eye toward accessibility, optimization, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance
• Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Identify potential issues and integrate possible solutions
• Craft custom scripts, reducing requirement of human interaction
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
• 0-2 years of related experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS, GCP, or IBM
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Experience with automation software
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts Python)
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
