The Project Superintendent works independently on small to medium sized projects or as part of a larger, more complex project. The Superintendent is responsible for the overall administration, organization and implementation of the testing program

  1. Assisting the project manager in the preparation of project documentation requirements, project layout, and field office support.
  2. Developing a resource loaded CPM schedule.
  3. Coordinating and running a project kick-off meeting (PKOM).
  4. Forecasting cash flow and manpower needs for projects.
  5. Reading and interpreting blue prints and project specifications.
  6. Working with the project Superintendent to develop a budget and cost codes for a project and assigning costs and manpower to the schedule for foreman level tracking.
  7. Researching and compiling submittals, pricing change orders and preparing estimates for designed projects by finishing the design and preparing a complete project estimate.
  8. Meeting with potential customers to present proposals.
  9. Understanding and following bid procedures and bid forms.
  10. Conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  11. Coordinating the acquisition of major materials, monitoring tool and equipment requirements with the project Superintendent and the warehouse.
  12. Acquiring all required permits and licenses for projects and ensuring all inspections are handled correctly and in a timely manner.
  13. Overall financial management of the project (s).
  14. Responsible to keep the profitability at and/above budget.
  15. Assuring a timely completion of a project including the completion of punch-list items, the submittal of accurate as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and the completion of all training and other administrative requirements.
  16. Monitoring project progress, preparing monthly reports analyzing the accuracy of the budget, schedule, cash flow and manpower forecasts.
  17. Identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvement and incorporating best practices.
  18. Ensuring KPR's are complete and all information is accurate.
  19. Developing a detailed equipment plan.
  20. Ensuring all safety regulations are adhered to
  21. Reviewing contracts and customer negotiations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Working knowledge of computers and experience with the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
  2. Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills
  5. Must have at least 15 years in the trade and 5 of them in supervision.
  6. Possess a master electrician's license
  7. Possess a high school degree or GED.
  8. Ability to acquire a government security clearance.
  9. Experience in running $5M plus electrical construction & renovation projects including normal & emergency power distribution, lighting & lighting control, branch & power feeders and specialty systems
  10. In depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA and relevant codes
