Successful candidate will supervise the personnel assigned to his/her shift, providing technical and safety training and directing their actions as necessary. Monitors and ensures efficient boiler, turbine and steam plant operation in accordance with all Safety, Environmental and Standard Operating Procedures. During the period of the assigned shift routinely tours the plant and oversees the work of the operators. In the event of emergencies or unusual operations, the Shift Supervisor will direct or personally perform the required operations or corrective actions, coordinating the activities of all personnel involved. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for approving all requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance or other purposes, and for ensuring that the equipment is properly tagged and cleared in accordance with plant procedures.
