General Summary of Position:

The Hyperbaric Technician operates the hyperbaric chamber and performs delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. The duties of the Wound and Hyperbaric Technician can vary dependent on the physical location. These functions are performed in accordance all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attendance and successful completion of the Introductory to Hyperbaric Medicine Course is required.
  • Must be able to take the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist examination within one year of employment.
  • Computer office skills.
  • Experience is preferred, however will train as needed.
