Schedule: M-F, up to 28 hours/week between 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. for 16-weeks
Reports to: Marketing Specialist

Summary of position:

One intern will be selected to work with the Marketing Department in IES Abroad' s Chicago office to work on individual projects, and assist the Department with larger projects and campaigns as needed. This internship is a great way for a current or recent college student to gain real-world marketing experience with a focus on marketing strategy.


Essential job responsibilities & duties:

Web

  • Assist with web content creation and editing, as directed by Marketing staff
  • Assist with executing search engine optimization, as directed by Marketing staff

Social Media

  • Add content to and assist in the curation of our social platforms (lnstagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Draft and pull photos for social media posts on school and advertising partners' platforms

Other

  • Assist with drafting prospective student emails
  • Draft online advertising copy
  • Draft features for partner e-newsletter
  • Draft content for monthly IES Abroad newsletter
  • Audit and gather content for select IES Abroad catalogs and brochures
  • Assist with collecting and organizing school, student, and intern profiles and quotes
  • Assist with carrying out marketing campaigns or other marketing-related projects, as needed
  • Develop understanding of best-practices as needed, ex. competitor research
  • Organize and upload photos to drive and Flickr

Experience & Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Experience with CMS and SEO preferred
  • Familiarity or experience with Adobe is a plus

Education Licenses and/or Certifications etc:

  • High School Diploma required Marketing, Communications, or Journalism major or related subject preferred.
