Covanta Indidnapolis is looking for a self-motivated Process Engineer with 5 or more years of hands-on process engineering experience for an exciting role at an essential Energy from Waste Power Plant


GOALS
  • Function as a high level team and individual contributor to provide general engineering support to the facility
POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Assess specific equipment or systems within the facility to maximize their use and production potential while preserving the asset
  • Direct and manage facility PdM program(s) including vibration, thermography and tribology
  • Work with the facility leadership and staff to assure all plant performance goals are met
  • Prepare/participate in the preparation of required reports, technical standards and technical specifications required by the facility
  • Coordinate and prioritize Engineering resources necessary to effectively provide support to the facility including managing the interface with regional, corporate and third party engineering
  • Participate in different phases of facility Projects including review of design, equipment specifications, contractor qualifications and physical project execution
GENERAL

  • The Plant Engineer will be a multi-faceted team member who can perform a variety of duties essential to safe, environmental compliant, and efficient plant operations and maintenance


  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Power Plant O&M and Engineering
  • Self-motivated with the ability to originate and facilitate the rollout of new ideas
  • Proven ability to step up and take ownership of specific team efforts
  • Proven ability to proactively champion technical issues and see them through to completion
  • Proven ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to lead teams and projects often in high profile situations
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and run projects from inception to start up
  • Strong MS Office skills
