Job Description
**PEDS/Pediatric RN experience strongly preferred as well as prior supervisory experience
Job Summary
  • Provides day-to-day coordination and supervision of patient care flow in the primary care center under the direction of the Practice Manager. Works with the Physician Assistant to assure continuity of care and adherence to regulatory standards of care related to an ambulatory residency practice.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Training
  • Valid RN license in the State of Maryland.
    • Experience
    • 5 years nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting; supervisory experience preferred.
    • License/Certification/Registration
      • CPR certification. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
      • EGK interpretation skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Coordinates all daily patient care activities including staff, materials and equipment during office hours. Supervises daily staffing to accommodate changing needs of practice/unit.
    • Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information. Mentors and coaches individuals based on individual strengths and developmental needs. Serves as a positive role model.
    • Involves staff in the development, monitoring, and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations. Motivates staff to work collaboratively to achieve mutually defined outcomes.
    • Makes effective decisions within the scope of delegated authority, with awareness of impact on others and in collaboration with other disciplines as appropriate.
    • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Delegates responsibility for problem solving and decision making to staff within the scope of their authority.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Recommends budgetary, space allocation, and equipment needs for the department.
    • Utilizes technical knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to patients.
