SUMMARY :

An internship position in the area of software development in a challenging engineering environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the engineering staff performs various software and hardware integration tasks including but not limited to:

  • Participates in design and development of various software applications. Completes well-defined coding tasks.
  • Assists with computer and/or electronic/imaging hardware setup.
  • Assists with software maintenance and testing.
  • Develops documentation for products/processes released to customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Must possess strong communication, computer, and problem solving skills. Prefer strong software programming skills with experience in Visual C++/.Net and/or Qt C++/linux and knowledge of Object Oriented concepts. Knowledge of relational database design and program is a plus. Must be proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access. Experience with PC hardware and software setup and configuration is also desired.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
The individual must be pursuing a BS degree in Software Engineering and shall have achieved junior status or higher. The individual shall also have completed the "core" coursework for his/her chosen discipline.

COMPUTER SKILLS :
Solid computer skills consistent with the position requirements to include Microsoft Windows Office Suite.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem in regression analysis, measures of central tendency and comparative labor statistics.


REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to correctly make decisions involving issues/ problems including when to escalate the problem to a more senior consultant.
