Job Description Inova's Population/Community Health Division is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to support several programs focused on health promotion and community relations, including the Inova Healthy Plate Club. By teaching kids about healthy nutrition through hands-on cooking lessons, creative taste tests and fun activities, the Healthy Plate Club aims to decrease obesity rates among low-income children grades K-8 in Fairfax and Loudoun counties and the city of Alexandria. The Program Coordinator will also support community outreach, education and engagement; Inova's Community Health Needs Assessment; and other programs as needed.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate extensive volunteer network
Lead Inova Healthy Plate Club activities at schools, health fairs, community centers and other related events as needed
Prepare health education materials and supplies to support Inova staff at programs/events
Represent Inova at community meetings
Input data and track and analyze metrics; prepare reports
Develop relationships with community stakeholders and secure health promotion event opportunities
Organize, inventory and order supplies; wash and sanitize equipment
Support the development of new projects and programs for Inova's Population Health division
Perform other duties as assigned
The Program Coordinator will work 40 hours a week. Some evening and weekend work required. Must have reliable transportation.

Requirements Experience - Required: Experience in developing, implementing and coordinating programs or projects - Required: 2 years experience in developing, implementing and coordinating programs or projects - Preferred: 3+ years and experience in health and allied fields.
Education - Required: Education in nursing, health, education, social work, public administration or other related field - Required: Bachelor's degree or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, or Associates degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor's degree - Preferred: Bachelors degree
Training - Training specific to job related activity will be provided by department and/or program
Certification - Where required by field: Required: Certification in pertinent field if required, such as Lamaze, fitness, ACLS, counseling - Preferred: Certification in field
Licensure - Where required by field: Required: Licensed as nurse, social worker, counselor or other specialty - Preferred: Licensure in VA
Special Skills - Required: Strong coordination, verbal and written communication skills and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access - Preferred: Proficiency in written and oral English and Spanish. Experience in Desktop publishing
