OVERVIEW
 
The Director of Training Programs is responsible for overseeing a large training program supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The Director of Training Programs will provide leadership and direction ensuring the delivery of high-quality training products that meet a variety of learning objectives. The Director of Training Programs will be responsible for stakeholder communication, staff mentorship and supervision, budget and schedule management, quality, and risk management.
 
DUTIES
 
  • Provide operational oversight and direct supervision for a large project team.
  • Ensure on time and on budget completion of contract deliverables and compliance with all contract clauses and requirements.
  • Assess, monitor, develop mitigation plans for, and communicate risks that may affect project performance.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues affecting successful project performance.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Hire and supervise staff.
  • Effectively apply industry standard program management methodologies and enforce best practices to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control program activities.
  • Document and monitor program wide standard operating procedures.
  • Provide strategic and technical recommendations to improve the quality of services and products.
  • Act as a liaison between client representatives and technical resources.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Proven success providing operational oversight for multi-year initiatives and contracts worth at least $20m.
  • Experience leading training initiatives for clients within the Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Experience with leading and directing the work of others.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A self-starter attitude willing to lead and contribute to any project activity.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours during peak periods.
  • At least 10 years of directly relevant experience.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and Shareable Content Object Reference Module (SCORM).
  • Captivate, Articulate, and/or Storyline experience.
