Job Description
Our chemistry department has grown double in size and we are looking for a leader to help run the laboratory. 

Monday through Friday. First Shift. Saturdays rotated with team. Salaried position (DOE). Health, Dental, Vision insurance. Paid time off. Flexible Time for start times. 401k with match. 


 


We are hiring an analytical chemist supervisor to work in our Chemistry Lab. This is a chemistry lead position that works independently performing tests according to SOP's as well as supervises other chemists in their daily operations. The analytical chemist reports directly to the Lab Manager and Lab Director.  This position will challenge you to think on your feet in a real time dynamic atmosphere. This is a fast paced atmosphere. Must be able to train quickly and learn new procedures on demand. Experience in a chemistry lab and supervisory/leadership proven skills are required. 
 
Experience:
  • Laboratory: 3-5 years (Required)
  • Analytical Chemistry: 3-5 years (Required)
  • HPLC: 2 years plus (Required)
  • Mass Spectroscopy: 2 years plus (Required)
  • Supervisor and/or management skills 2 plus years (required)
 
 Qualifications:
• Minimum BS degree in Chemistry or closely related field required, with 3+ years of experience in laboratory setting• Experience with dissolution and chemosensory testing • Familiarity with compliance requirements within cGMP, safety and regulatory environments • Operational knowledge of analytical instrumentation like HPLC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV-VIS equipment, and data stations required • Demonstrated computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, (LIMS) • The ability to solve extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables • Ability to work independently in a highly dynamic and fluid work environment 

  Additional job qualifications:
  • Perform standard AOAC, USP, FCC and customer specified analyses accurately and on a timely basis which include titrations, chromatography and spectroscopy
  • Performs troubleshooting of instrumentation by applying problem solving skills and sourcing out literature or vendors if necessary. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed with respect to a given project. Ensure documentation meets facility audit as well as cGMP requirements.
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to concentrate for long periods of time
  • Sets up, adjusts, operates, and cleans laboratory equipment
  • Experience in using/following SOP's
  • Organize and prepare supplies needed to complete work.
  • Maintain chemistry lab inventory
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Follow all safety and good laboratory practices
  • Effectively communicates results of testing to lab director and clients
  • Effectively documents raw data in laboratory notebooks
  • Entry of results into databases
  • Experience or knowledge of LIMs system and Excel
  • Must have excellent professional oral and written skills
  • Must have excellent multitasking skills
  • Must have management or supervisory skills to lead a team of chemists
  • must be able to hold weekly meeting with team and lab management
  • Experience in training employees a plus
