Who We Are Looking For: A seasoned Peer review Manager that likes to lead, learn and operate in excellence.

The Peer Review Program Manager will be assigned to a specific Federal Government Program Office to plan, coordinate, and manage Federal Grant Application reviews. Grant Reviews are most often held in Washington DC area hotels, in the field through web-assisted telephone conferences, or a combination of the two. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Major Area of focus:
    Coordinate and Manage Grant Reviews
     
  2. Serve as the main contact and support for the Federal government program staff member.
  3. Facilitate meetings with government program staff on a regular basis to determine all resources needed for each review.
  4. Review and/or be aware of requirements for onsite reviews including paneling, meeting rooms, accommodations, banquet event orders, registration, equipment and any other requirement determined by the client or application reviewers and provisioned within the budget.  Assist with planning and overseeing onsite reviews and meetings. Ensure correct room and equipment set-up.
  5. Set up and maintain project plans for each Peer Review and enter activities, dates, and milestones into project schedule software or convey that information to the individual managing the software.
  6. Quality-check data entry into logistics web tool and ensure that all reviewer material, grant packages, and deliverables are quality control reviewed.
  7. Provide advice and guidance to the client on issues that may affect the grant review.
  8. Resolve reviewer and application paneling conflicts and confer with the Program Manager as needed on any unresolved or concerning conflicts, and potential risks or issues.
  9. Coordinate receipt of applications for reviews.
  10. Develop and/or coordinate grant review support materials and training documents. Generate Reviewer grant pfacket, including score sheets.
  11. Work with the operations support team to ensure their understanding of program requirements and provide guidance and feedback as necessary to ensure successful peer reviews.
  12. Coordinate and participate in pre-review telephone conference and initial briefing.
  13. Distribute panel comments and successful and unsuccessful letters to applicants. 
  14. Track and manage tasks and hours of logistical support.
  15. Help manage expenditures for each grant review.
  16. Ensure that all proposal/applications and other materials are destroyed as appropriate.
  17. Ensure delivery of final grant review files to client.
  18. Compile and submit reports as required to Program Manager on peer review activities, schedule status, risks and mitigations and milestones, and post-review status.
  19.  Consult with Program Manager and advise on strategies to gain efficiencies and improve functional capabilities regarding grant review procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Three to Five years of experience working in Federal Healthcare, Social Services, Science, Social and/or Education Programs targeted at one or more minority populations. Bachelor’s and equivalent experience and training.
  2. Candidate must demonstrate an intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. 
  3. This position requires the ability to get a U.S. Public Trust clearance.
