Job Description

ASESTOS ABATEMENT WORKER

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Ø  QUALIFICATIONS

 

§  Successful completion of an EPA approved 32-hour Asbestos Worker training class and any continuing refresher classes as needed.

§  Possession of a current Asbestos Worker License in Maryland, Virginia and/or The District of Columbia

§  Current Asbestos Worker Physical performed by a qualified Physician

§  Two or more years’ experience in various types of asbestos removal

§  Eligible to legally work in the United States of America (Potomac uses e-Verify)

 

Ø  EXPECTATIONS

 

§  Ability to arrive at the assigned job site on-time, typically located in the Tri-State area

§  Ability to work day shift or night shift on a job-to-job basis as work schedules and customer requirements may vary

§  Ability to work overtime on an extended day or weekend shift as may be required to meet customer expectations and schedules

§  Ability to lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

§  Ability to safely use small hand tools (knives, saws, cutting equipment)

§  Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, etc. as may be required

§  Maintain all licenses, certifications and documentation as current.  Workers may not be eligible to work with expired credentials.

 

Ø  ASBESTOS ABATEMENT WORKER

 

The successful Asbestos Abatement Worker will have two to three years’ experience in the removal of various types of asbestos applications including floor tile and mastic, spray-on materials, insulation materials, ceiling scrapes, glove bag applications and window caulk removal.  Asbestos abatement is usually associated with various types of required demolition such as wall or partition removal, block removal, window removal, concrete trenching, etc.
