Episcopal High School is seeking a full-time HVAC technician to assist the HVAC Superintendent with troubleshooting, installing, repairing, servicing, and overhauling commercial and residential HVAC and associated equipment to perform journeyman level work. The HVAC technician assists the HVAC Superintendent with installing and repairing motors, motor controllers and associated electrical pilot control devices; assists the HVAC Superintendent with installing sheet metal accessories and equipment, including air handlers, exhaust fans, fire dampers, louvers, etc.; assists in the maintenance and administration of water treatment as appropriate to HVAC systems; assists the HVAC Superintendent with performing chemical tests to maintain chemical control; and is responsible to be available to work overtime as duties require, including weekends and possible shift work (i.e. after hours).
Qualifications:
• Minimum two year college degree
• Must have a strong knowledge of electrical trade and an ability to read shop and field drawings
• Must have basic working knowledge of computers
• Must have basic knowledge of parts inventories and warehousing
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to lift 100 pounds
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license
• Successful completion of a criminal records fingerprint background check
Work Environment:
• Required to inspect crawl spaces, attics, laboratories, ventilation equipment, mechanical rooms, mechanical shafts, sub basements and confined, isolated areas, including manholes and steam tunnels
• Risk exposure to asbestos, toxic vapors, heat, cold, height and accumulated dirt
