Job Description

Dakota is seeking applicants possessing the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities to actively engage with the Center of Operational Analysis (COA) industry and research partners to develop quantitatively defensible solutions to a wide range of complex problems and collaboratively assist the COA in its efforts to provide exceptional service to DoD Senior Leaders.

The successful candidate will be qualified individuals who have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: optimization stochastic processes, simulation, statistics, data analysis, decision analysis, machine learning, system analysis, algorithms, and/or graph theory. Representative duties may include mathematical modeling of complex systems and business process, development of algorithms, application of advanced data analytics, and coauthor participation in peer-reviewed journal submissions.

Job Functions:

 
  • Support research objectives of the Director of Research
  • Collaborate with the COA industry and research partners to develop quantitatively-supported solutions
  • Leverage analytical skills and expertise to perform and deliver sophisticated data and decision analysis
  • Support and co-author peer-reviewed journal submissions based on results and findings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in optimization methodologies
  • Knowledge in stochastic processes, algorithms, and/or graph theory
  • Display knowledge of mathematical modeling of complex systems and business processes
  • Development of algorithms, application of advanced data analytics
  • Experienced in co-authorship of peer-reviewed professional-journal submissions

 Education/Training and Certification:
 
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering Logistics / Supply Chain Management, Operations Management , or Operations Research
  • Applicant’s  Ph.D. must have been earned from accredited U.S. university, awarded within the past 3 years /36 months.
  • Applicants must be a citizen of the U.S. and be able to successfully pass a detailed background check as required for qualification to hold an advanced security clearance.
