Job Description

Summary:
C2 is has immediate openings for Instructional Systems Designers at Fort Meade in Linthicum Maryland: Instructional Systems Designer, Principal and Instructional Systems Designer II.

The Instructional Systems Designer supports instructional system design activities of systematically transferring principles, concepts and best practices of learning and instruction for training materials and activities by analyzing the problem, designing a specification, developing the courseware, implementing the solution, and performing evaluations throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops training solutions using the ISD methodology.
  • Develops design plans that include developing learning objectives, determining functionality and navigation strategies, documenting minimum technical specifications (user and client), determining learning strategies and content flow, determining testing/evaluation requirements and interactivity, and planning the courseware functionality.
  • Consults with subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide course content and training curriculum.
  • Develops instructor and student guides, scripts, and storyboards to include content and theme; defines all media elements (graphics, animations, video, audio), and explains programming (user interaction) requirements.
  • Writes narration scripts and plans music/sound effects.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design or related field; or equivalent professional experience in lieu of education or otherwise specified by contract requirements; Principal Requirements: Mast er's degree or higher in instructional design or related field; or equivalent professional experience in lieu of education or otherwise specified by contract requirements.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of training-related experience with extensive knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design model to design, develop, plan and organize training programs; Principal Requirements: Eight (8) or more years of training-related experience with extensive knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design model to design, develop, plan and organize training programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience of the ISD process in the development of instructor-led training (ILT), web-based training (WBT), and blended learning solutions (BLS.)
  • Thorough understanding of adult learning as it applies to development of training programs.
  • Synchronous and asynchronous curriculum design and development experience.
  • Experience creating Kirkpatrick Level I, II, and III training evaluations.
  • Intermediate skills in a variety of applicable software packages to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
  • At least two (2) years of experience developing on-line, instructor-led, or instructor-facilitated courses
  • Experience developing and updating on-line instructor-led or instructor-facilitated distance-delivered courses in a Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE)
  • Current Secret or Top Secret security eligibility

  • Customer Service - Utilizes current principles and processes for providing high quality customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
