The Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center, a dramatic, catering/special events venue emphasizing excellence and innovation in food quality, presentation and creativity is seeking a Pastry Prep Cook to join our culinary team.
We are seeking someone who will be able to perform assigned duties of pastry and baking food preparation and ensure that all food served is of the highest quality and ready to be served to the quests.
Responsibilities:
Prepares pastry food items
Sets up and organizes work area with all necessary supplies and equipment
Receives, inspects, rotates all food products to ensure that only fresh, high quality ingredients are used
Prepares and stores raw food products prior to final assembly of hot and cold food items
Adheres to established plating/presentation guidelines for hot and cold food
Adheres to portion control guidelines, minimizes waste
Ensures that quality product is prepared and served in a timely manner
Monitors refrigeration and holding temperatures, cleans and sanitizes work surface, washes hands frequently
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1 year hands on experience with quality pastry production in high volume, upscale, hotel/free standing restaurant with banquet operation
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Food Service Sanitation Standards
Ability to stand, stoop, bend lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to read and write English
Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
Understands recipes and measurements so that they can be multiplied to meet exact quantities
