Development and Marketing Intern-Unpaid

Overall job duties include assisting the Director of Development in reaching out to current and potential donors who believe in LSS/NCA’s mission to walk with those in need and provide services that offer hope and rebuild lives.
Our current programs focus on:
• foster care and adoption,
• refugee resettlement, including housing placement and employment training/services
• youth programs for children/teens affected by with HIV/AIDS
• and disaster relief and response.
Specific duties include:
• helping organize, market, and implement strategies to ensure the success of LSS/NCA’s annual benefit breakfast Expressions of Abundance
• compiling and drafting client stories to be used in agency newsletters, online publications, grant proposals, etc.
• helping Director of Development create and implement successful fundraising campaigns that support programmatic needs and vital future development
• creating and implementing a donor recognition program, including but not limited to a weekly acknowledgement and monthly pledge reminder process
• serving as a LSS/NCA liaison reaching out to local businesses, individuals, and congregations
• assisting with donor outreach and cultivation through mail, phone, email, and in-person visits
• drafting letters, newsletter articles, other documents
• other duties as needed
Minimum requirements: Passion for social justice. Knowledge of MS Office Suite. Strong writing skills. Team player.
Preferred requirements: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising (or related) majors preferred, but anyone with a passion for social justice and strong writing skills is encouraged to apply.
