What M.C.Dean, Inc. is looking for is a leader with the practical experience of overseeing multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and designers in the development of detailed system design; an individual who will manage diverse group of employees and discipline managers for a wide variety of technologies and environments that include secure / non-secure LAN/WAN environments, SATCOM systems (stationary and deployable / tactical), C4ISR Systems, Client / Server Environments, including installations, Storage solutions, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) of DoD & U.S. Government Systems, Knowledge Management systems, radar systems, Network infrastructure for electronic security systems, visual information systems including VTC, BDS, CCTV, CATV, and audio distribution, VoIP and TDM voice technologies, wireless networking technologies (WiFi, WiMax, etc.), Network Management Systems.
This individual must be a strong communicator who can multi-task and manage multiple projects and people effectively. We need an optimistic realist who sets a high standard.
Day-to-day, the Engineering Manager will manage, mentor and develop managers for each engineering discipline. Manage personnel and work forecasts, budgets, and engineering design / deliverable schedule. Will be responsible for implementing and managing scalable processes and quality control mechanisms that ensure consistent, repeatable engineering results. The Engineering manager will interface with clients and will team with executive management to develop business strategy. The Engineering Manager will also be charged with establishing and tracking metrics required for scheduling, estimating and forecasting. In addition, the Engineering Manager will assist with proposal development and customer presentations.
Experience / Education Required:
Hold a B.S. in Electrical or computer engineering (MSEE preferred).
Have 5+ years of related experience managing an engineering team including responsibilities for resources and personnel management, budget forecasting, managing costs and production schedule.
Experience with engineering support for projects using earned value.
Familiarity with software projects involving embedded software development
Familiarity or specific training in continuous improvement methodology such as Six Sigma, TCM, etc.
