Position Description

The incumbent provides leadership and direction to the Office of Assessments & Accountability within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), and reports directly to the State Superintendent of Education. The Office of Assessment & Accountability is responsible for the OSSE establishing statewide standards to be adopted by all school in the District of Columbia; monitoring assessments across all schools, as well as establishing and accountability system for achieving federal and state standards and meeting NCLB and citywide/ district assessment goals. In addition, the Director, Accountability & Assessments is responsible for professional certification, and the development and evaluation of educational programs.
