Position Description

Times New Blackberry Technician: perm, Washington, DC The BlackBerry Technician is responsible for the day to day activities of supporting BlackBerry hand held device hardware and software functions for the end user community. Prepares, installs and delivers BlackBerry hand held devices to attorneys. This includes installing BlackBerry hand held device software, desktop synchronization software, synchronizing e-mail, calendar, contacts, tasks and memos between the hand held device and the desktop; as well as providing user training on the BlackBerry. Troubleshoots BlackBerry hand held device issues. Manages BlackBerry device inventory by maintaining accurate administrative records tracking each BlackBerry device through its life cycle. This includes retiring devices at the end of their life cycle and terminating with the service provider the monthly airtime fees; as well as timely ordering of new devices to maintain adequate stock levels. Provisions BlackBerry Cell Phone service per attorney request and firm policies. Answers queries concerning BlackBerry service coverage. Requires minimum guidance, often works independently, yet keeps supervisor accurately and timely informed of work status. Juggles shifting priorities, keeping attorneys timely informed of the status of their BlackBerry service requests, and meets, often very short notice, time deadlines. Works well as part of a team as required. Communicates extremely well with attorneys in a highly professional, service oriented manner when providing BlackBerry support. Performs miscellaneous technical support tasks and special technical projects as assigned by Information Technology Services management. Keeps scheduled appointments, reports for work on time and maintains good attendance with valid reasons for absences. Maintains personal appearance and conduct appropriate for a professional services environment at all times. Demonstrates solid written and oral communications skills. Generally remains calm and focused in pressure Minimum two years experience in a desktop PC maintenance position, preferably in a client-service organization (legal background not required) with at least one year, can be concurrent, BlackBerry service experience.
