(3064) - [Director of Disability Support Services, Office of Student Affairs, Exempt, Regular, Full-Time, Grade G] - The Director of Disability Support Services is responsible for the coordination of support services to undergraduate and graduate online and on-site students with disabilities. The Director of Disability Support Services provides direct services to students, responds to inquiries regarding disability services, and coordinates with University faculty and staff to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations. Reporting to the Associate Provost of Student Affairs & University Registrar, the Director works with a growing population of students with a variety of disabilities each semester, will manage the current caseload of approximately 150 students, and ill plan for the growth and scalability of the disabled student support services. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Advise students with disabilities regarding the University's accommodation process and determine the appropriate accommodations and services; review and interpret various diagnostic assessments to determine students eligibilities; 2. Respond to inquiries from student, faculty (including those who teach in the evenings and on weekends) and staff (including those in the University's Asia and Europe operations) regarding the University policies and procedures pertaining to disability support services; 3. Coordinate auxiliary aids and services including, but not limited to, class materials in alternative formats, interpreters, note takers, test accommodations, readers and adaptive technology; 4. Collaborate with and train University faculty and staff to ensure provision of appropriate academic accommodations; 5. Supervise both full-time and part-time staff; and 6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned |

Qualifications: |
|
Requires a Bachelor' degree and 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities in post-secondary educational setting. Candidates with a Master' degree preferably in rehabilitation, counseling, social work, special education or a related field and/or experience and an understanding of the unique needs of adult learners with disabilities are highly desired. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of current disability law and best practices in providing accommodations in a post-secondary environment; demonstrated knowledge of current disability law and best practices in providing accommodations in a post-secondary educational setting; and demonstrated knowledge and application with Section 504 and Americans with Disabilities Act; demonstrated knowledge of Web accessibility challenges and familiarity with assistive technology and software used by students with disabilities. In additional, qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability in problem-solving and trouble-shooting issues; be capable of prioritizing and managing multiple administrative tasks; and capable of working collaboratively in a group and/or independently. Experience working in a multicultural environment is also preferred. Salary low $80s and is commensurate with experience. Position will remain open until filled.
