Position Description

Summary:

The purpose of Coming Together Around Military Families (CTAMF), a project of Military Projects @ ZERO TO THREE, is to strengthen the resilience of young children and their families who are experiencing trauma and loss as a result of a service members’ deployment to Afghanistan and/or Iraq. This position will support the activities of CTAMF by providing training for professionals and community leadership located at participating military installations, States and medical facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a full time staff trainer for the Duty to Care I and II trainings for participating Military Installations and states involved in CTAMF:
2. Support and contribute to the planning of meetings, project materials, and training regarding the military-specific context essential for supporting military families.
3. Support the planning of Duty to Care I and II trainings implemented at each of the participating host sites to include setting dates, communicating with community POC’s, attending trainings when needed, and any other activities to support the implementation of DTC.
4. In partnership with the Training Support Coordinator and/or Training and Consultation Specialist, responsible for planning of trainings on-site to include coordination and/or oversight of catering, meeting space, participant registration, materials delivery, communications (flyers, letters, e-mail, etc.).
5. Generate monthly and quarterly training reports for funder
6. Work with Training Support Coordinator in trainer assignment and coordination
7. Work with Training Support Coordinator in coordinating Master Training Calendar
8. Coordination and facilitation of trainer conference calls and standardization and quality review in line with quality review plan
9. Assist in the coordination and facilitation of consultation requests
10. Support the development and implementation of Military Project activities, as assigned.
11. Provide written reports, documentation and adherence to protocol as outlined in DoD contract
12. Represent Military Projects at various meetings, events, conferences, etc. as requested.
13. Contribute to the overall vision and work of Military Projects @ ZERO TO THREE activities by participating in regular staff meetings, retreats, strategic planning, etc.
14. Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of early childhood development, with a specific focus on infant and toddler development;
• Strong knowledge of trauma, grief and loss;
• Strong knowledge of military programs preferred;
• Strong training skills;
• Knowledge of adult learning principles in practice;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Excellent conceptual, written and oral skills;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks;
• Detail oriented;
• Effective time management skills;
• Ability to be flexible; and
• Ability to travel

Education:

Masters in Education in Social Work or related field required
