Position Description
North Bethesda health and human services consulting firm seeks a smart, creative, inventive Sr. Instructional Designer who works collaboratively with clients and co-workers to join our Instructional Media Center. This onsite position (full-time telecommuting is not an option) requires minimal travel.
The Instructional Media Center works with diverse project teams to develop online and blended learning in support of client objectives. Our goal is to create engaging, effective learning experiences that make a real performance difference, using both proven and emerging technologies. Minimum Experience/ Education Requirements:
•BA in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, Multimedia or related field (MA preferred)
•3-5 years experience developing online and blended learning solutions incorporating graphics, audio, video, animation
•Highly proficient with Adobe Captivate, rapid eLearning tools such as Composica or Articulate, MS Office
•Understanding and application of adult learning theory to develops and provides recommendations for sequencing of instruction, design of course materials and activities, interface design, instructional architecture, use of assessments, evaluation metrics
•Proven ability to produce, archive webinars/interactive live web-based training
•Design skills including GUI for courses and learning management systems, storyboards, mock-ups
•Understanding of Web 2.0/social media to enhance and extend learning
•Web skills including HTML, Google Analytics
•Working knowledge of LMS and CMS capabilities (including open source software such as Moodle, Drupal)
•Working knowledge of SCORM, usability standards and testing, and Section 508 accessibility requirements
•Customer and quality focused
•Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate complex issues and make oral presentations
•Experience with design/development for mobile learning highly desirable
•Audio, video production/editing skills a plus
•Adobe Flash, ActionScript, JavaScript skills a plus
•Experience working in a consulting firm framework and with Federal agencies a plus
