Description:
Purpose: To plan, organize, direct, and evaluates rehabilitation services (e.g. PT, OT).
This position has all supervisory, managerial, and administrative responsibilities including hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff.
This position consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to the applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures. In addition, Regional leaders are accountable for communication, implementation, enforcement, monitoring and oversight of compliance policies and practices in their departments.
In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.
Accountabilities: 1. Manages day-to-day clinical operations of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department taking accountability for quality management of staff and departmental operations. 2. Provides a minimum 40% direct patient care including the initial evaluation, determination of the treatment program, implementation of the treatment program, following up with patient, and re-evaluations. 3. Monitors and prioritizes departmental workflows. 4. Is responsible for all aspects of appointment access to include oversight for the supply and demand of appointments. 5. Manages leave requests and KRONOS activities. 6. Manages referral queue to ensure that 80% of the members receive their appointments within 10 days from the date of their referral. 7. Demonstrates skill in customer service, interpersonal communications, and team building. 8. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. 9. Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures for the department as needed. 10. Ensures services are in compliance with professional standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements. 11. Interviews, hires, trains and manages all department personnel. Develops standards of behavioral performance and clinical competencies. Evaluates personnel based on established standards and competencies. 12. Disciplines and implements corrective action in accordance to established personnel policies. 13. Provide clinical direction to staff. 14. Identifies and responds to member needs. 15. Ensures ongoing professional development for self, clinical staff, support staff and student affiliates. 16. Promotes loyalty and morale by creating a climate that encourages professional development, individual creativity, innovation and a high level of productivity. 17. Develops, coordinates and manages the non payroll and payroll budgets.
Minimum Requirement and Relevant Years of Experience: . Five years of experience in clinical physical therapy setting required. . Three years of supervisory experience required.
Minimum Requirement - Education: . Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy curriculum with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate's Degree required. . Physical Therapy License in the appropriate jurisdiction required.
Other competencies . Successfully be able to perform core competencies completely. . Demonstrates leadership skills and problem-solving abilities.
