This is a 9-month faculty position available in the Fall 2010 semester. Hire will be at the assistant professor level.

Areas of responsibility include directing the instrumental band(s) and teaching a combination of traditional, hybrid, and on-line courses to include Music Appreciation, Music History, and/or Music Theory. Additional responsibilities include fund raising, entrepreneurship, community outreach, scheduling use of the Schlesinger Center Concert Hall, overseeing applied instrumental instructors, serving on campus and College committees, developing curriculum and advising students.

Required: Master's degree in Music with conducting specialization. A demonstrated teaching ability in music, a strong history of instrumental conducting, entrepreneurial skills, and a strong commitment to diversity. Familiarity with instructional technologies used in the modern classroom.

Desired: Doctorate with teaching experience in a community college setting. Experience working with student with diverse backgrounds.
