The Family Coordinator Program Analyst is primarily responsible for developing a highly productive and resourceful working relationship with a diverse, broad range of non-governmental agencies and veterans groups for the purpose of providing support services for the Wounded, Ill and Injured (WII) Sailors and their families. Act on behalf of the Safe Harbor Command to resolve problems associated with support for the WII and their families. The Family Coordinator Program analyst is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with Family Coordinators in sister services. Establish and participate in regularly scheduled meetings.
- Initiate and maintain personal contacts and collaborative relationships with key Navy and DoD personnel and representatives of private sector organizations for the purpose of strengthening resources for our families.
- Represent Safe Harbor at external meetings and conferences. Be a critical member of OSD/DoD meetings when appropriate.
- Maintain a close working alliance with Commander Navy Installations Command for the purpose of information exchange and quick turn around on child care, counseling, household kit requests, etc.
- Ensure timely communication with the Safe Harbor Non-Medical Care Managers regarding any new sources of family assistance.
- Foster communication with individuals and organizations that will be helpful in meeting objectives of Safe Harbor Family Coordinator.
- Track any unusual trends which present themselves over the course of time.
- Participate in decisions for formulating command policy, devising procedures essential to the achievement of objectives, and the development and evaluation of programs and services.
- Provide functional assistance to the Navy Safe Harbor Executive Officer, Operations Officer, Administrative Officer, Command Master Chief, and other members of the Navy Safe Harbor.

- Coordinate, implement, and execute policies and procedures relating to the standard operating procedures of the Navy.
- Ensure proper preparation, maintenance, confidentiality, and submission of records, reports, and forms.
- Ensure compliance with national standards for the safe keeping of enrollee records in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act.
- Familiarity with established policies, procedures and instructions that impact the command mission.
- Proven professional level organizational management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communite effectively, both orally and in writing with a variety of audiences, including technical, professional and administrative specialists at all organization and hierarchical levels.
- Knowledge of Family Readiness challenges; experience in collaboration with the staff responsible for same.
- Knowledge of military lifestyle, U.S. Navy organizational structure and the wounded care continuum.
- Leadership and management ability demonstrated by working well independently, and within the department, service line, directorate, command, and external agencies.
- Detail oriented and adaptable; able to accommodate a flexible work schedule and available to travel to conferences, site visits, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting at Navy Safe Harbor Command. Management and leadership responsibilities of various programs will require traveling to various military installations, and other agencies associated with the Navy Safe Harbor.
