Position Description
Blue Ridge Transportation, a growing local company, seeks a Tech/IT Specialist to implement, install, manage and maintain technology systems, including but not limited to:
-Office computers, printers, fax machines, copiers and scanners
-Wireless internet system
-Digital phone system
-Office server
-Fleet of Nextel phones and chargers on vehicles
-GPS monitoring of vehicles
-24-hour camera office surveillance system
-The Tech/IT Specialist will be responsible for setting up new systems and devices, which may include shopping around, obtaining price quotes, and/or comparing alternative possibilities.
-The Tech/IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining systems, which may include troubleshooting problems, fixing them, and/or contacting and working with vendor technical support representatives.
-The Tech/IT Specialist will be responsible for continually checking on the status of systems and devices, for example by doing inventories on Nextel phones and chargers, and checking whether the GPS system is accurately tracking vehicles at all times.
