A small community bank in downtown Bethesda, Maryland is seeking a Loan Operations Specialist. This corporate culture of this bank is family oriented and lively; they are looking for someone who is eager to join a winning team.

Job Responsibilities: The loan operations specialist will be responsible for reviewing the files available in support of each credit for completeness. S/he will work with the loan operations manager to ensure the accuracy of records relating to lending and assist with collection activities as needed.
Job Duties:
• Maintain all files in support of each new extension of credit or renewal and ensure its accuracy and completeness prior to the distribution of proceeds.
• Examine new notes for accuracy and completeness prior to entry into the bank’s records.
• Prepare data entry information regarding payment and renewal activity.
• Complete new loan entry sheets and change sheets. Input data as required.
• Conduct a review of previously established credit files to ensure their completeness and make documented efforts to correct any deficiencies, as they become apparent.
• Maintain insurance records to assure that any insurance required, as a condition of the loan, is in place and is sufficient in amount and type of coverage.
• Accept payments on bank notes, either in the form of cash, check or wires (when payoffs are received, form of payment should be approved by supervisor prior to surrender of note).
• Institute credit inquiries as requested by loan officers and respond to such inquiries made to the bank, verifying the accuracy of those reports.
• Assist the loan officer by making customer contacts on delinquent accounts.

• Balance daily trial and complete monthly reconciliations for accounting department.
• Maintain insurance records to assure that any insurance required, as a condition of the loan, is in place and is sufficient in amount and type of coverage.
• Prepare data entry information regarding payment and renewal activity in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
• At least 3 years of banking experience in loan administration or operations.
• Working knowledge of loan regulations.
• Business degree preferred, preferably in finance, accounting or economics.
• Experience using the Premier Navigator system.
• Solid understanding of loan processing and servicing.
• Track record of providing excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated record of attendance, timeliness and dependability.
• Proactively demonstrate the personal attention, responsiveness, innovation, flexibility, integrity and community service for all customers and bank personnel.
• Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and attend all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position.
