The Certified General Real Estate Appraiser: full time position to work on-site at a Federal agency in Washington DC. The position will review appraisals prepared by third-party vendors as well as prepare reports for Market Value and Fair Market Rent. The successful candidate will interact and provide technical expertise on appraisal matters and provide guidance on evaluation of third-party appraisal rating system.

Requirements:

• Candidate must be a Certified General Appraiser or be able to be certified within three monhts.
• Must be able to be cleared under HSPD-12 security check and be badged by the Federal government
• Must have commercial appraisal experience with specific experience in office and storage properties. Historic properties and special use properties experience is also desirable.
• Appraisal Institute candidates are most desirable, with some coursework completed.

While this position will report full-time to the Government office site, there will be extensive interaction by telephone or in person with MAI at The Metis Group to discuss assignments, approaches and any technical questions. There will be off-line training provided to the successful candidate through these conversations. The successful candidate will be able to know what is known and what is not known and be smart enough to ask the right questions.
