Position Requirements:


The Senior Principal Software Engineer responsibilities are:



  • Design, build, and test software.
  • Develop and maintain software design documents.
  • Develop requirements for application development based on customer interaction.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:


Minimum ten years in a technical role, working on software intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers, of which:


  • Ten years experience as a Software Engineer supporting software architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems)
  • Five years experience in some applicable programming language/tools such as the following: JAVA; C++ or C; COBRA; J2EE; Perl; JavaScript; UNIX scripting languages XML; HTML; workflow tools such as JBoss or Weblogic DOM; AJAX; Apache; Spring; near-real-time processing; collection systems; network protocols & standards; GUI development; mission management systems.
  • JAVA language and platform is a must.
  • Experience developing applications utilizing the Spring Framework.
  • Experienced with the implementation of Web Services and Web Service Clients (i.e., SOAP, REST, Spring Web Services)
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of modern Web Application technologies to include: AJAX & Cornet (Reverse AJAX)
  • Experience working with open source Java application Frameworks, APIs. & Fools (i.e., Jakarta Commons, Tomcat, Jetty, Eclipse)
  • Java Application Security (i.e., J2EE Security, ACEGI Security Framework)
  • Experience working with relational databases and ORM Tools (i.e., JDBC, SQL, Hibernate)
  • Must be experienced in programming using Top Down, Event Driven, and object-oriented paradigms.
  • At least 3 years experience with an intelligence community or signals intelligence activity.

Desired Experience:



  • Knowledge of common design patterns
  • Eclipse Development Environment
  • Scripting in Perl & UNIX shell (bash/sh/csh)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience in Agile methods.

Clearance Requirements: Top Secret/SCI clearance w/Full Scope Polygraph required [Note: CCA clearance acceptable (CI Polygraph); Lifestyle Polygraph must be passed within 6 months.]
