Job Duties and Responsibilities
What Will This Position Offer You:
The opportunity to secure the nation on highly visible efforts supporting national security through system administration.
Position Requirements:
The Senior System Administrator shall possess strong systems integration skills working with LINUX in a production environment. Database experience (Sybase, ORACLE) is required.
This position requires a minimum of five years system administration experience with computer systems.
Additionally, this position requires the following experience within the last three years:

  • A minimum of two years experience performing periodic system backups and developing/documenting standard operating system backup procedures
  • A minimum of two years scripting experience using BOURNE Shell, C Shell or KORN Shell languages.
  • A minimum of two of the specializations listed below:

    • Windows Operating Systems: Individual shall have designed, coded, tested, and debugged software to run under Microsoft Windows (98, NT or 2000).
    • UNIX Operating Systems: Individual shall have designed, coded, tested, and debugged software to run under UNIX Solaris 2.x and one (1) year experience in one of these: LINUX 7.x, SVR3.3, SVR4, or Dec Alpha.
    • UNIX System Administration: Individual shall have experience performing system administration in a UNIX environment to include user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, perform software and hardware upgrades, and shell script programming. Individual shall have experience in troubleshooting applications software to include AIX, SUN OS, memory detection software, LINUX and Solaris systems with NIS, NFS, and DNS networking environments.
    • Windows System Administration: Individual shall have experience performing system administration in a Windows environment to include user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, perform software and hardware upgrades, and shell script programming. This individual shall have experience in troubleshooting applications software to include Windows 98, NT or 2000.


A Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or Redhat Certified Technician (RHCT) certification is highly desirable and can substitute for one year experience.
Clearance Requirements: Top Secret/SCI Clearance with FS Poly (Poly must have been taken in the last five years).
