Position involves supporting a government agency that is responsible for many large research and clinical initiatives. Will be part of a team that is developing a major service-oriented architectural framework for a complex set of applications and databases, both at the enterprise-wide as well as the solution levels. Job will require complex analysis of issues related to business processes, information requirements, application behavior, standards, and interface syntax, while evaluating, modifying, and implementing new architectural methodologies and notations. The ideal candidate enjoys an intellectual challenge and is able to discover and model complex abstractions.
Qualifications
Requirements include Bachelor’s degree in technical or healthcare-related field and 8 years of progressive experience with information technology and architecture. A background in health IT and/or healthcare research is a significant plus. Candidate shall have hands-on expertise in the use of at least one major architectural framework (such as DoDAF, TOGAF, Zachman, etc.). Thorough familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture concepts is essential. Expertise with UML is highly desired. Candidates with experience related to several of the following topics will be given additional consideration: business process modeling, information modeling, grid computing, design patterns, Health Level 7, Object Management Group, Reference Model for Open Distributed Processing.
Candidate is expected to perform at a senior consultant level with minimal supervision. Advanced oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
