PCTEL RF Solutions Group, a leading provider of high performance digital Scanning Receivers and RF data collection systems used by wireless network operators worldwide, is seeking qualified RF Network Engineers to join our and Product Management and Technical Marketing team.


Position Description

The RF Applications Engineer will work with the Product Management and Marketing staff to deliver and promote the sale of PCTEL’s SeeGull, InSite, and CLARIFY wireless network optimization solutions. In this important role, the RF Applications Engineer will define product requirements, apply the features of the scanning receivers in network optimization, and assist both Marketing and Sales staff in communicating the value proposition of the products to existing and prospective customer end users.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support PCTEL’s product development team by providing customer-centric feedback concerning the features and performance of RFSG products
• Communicate to the PCTEL Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering staffs inputs on regarding product features, functionality, and applications that will extend the value proposition of RFSG products.
• Research and document product requirements for RFSG scanning receiver products and application software. .
• Perform internal or customer-facing product tests, demonstrations or trials as required by the Product Management team.
• Provide input to product roadmaps and strategy.
• Develop high quality, written technical content that can bee applied towards sales materials, such as brochures, data sheets, applications notes, website content, and presentations.
• Support the Global Sales team, as required by the Product Management team, on existing and potential sales opportunities; this includes supporting Request for Proposal / Request for Quote / Request for Information responses as necessary.
• Contribute to enhancing the quality of end-user product documentation.
• Perform and document competitive product analyses.
• Administer internal and customer-facing product and technology training.


Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of recent professional experience as an RF engineer at an engineering services firm or a wireless network operator
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with coursework in wireless communication theory and signal processing or equivalent practical experience
• Direct experience using wireless network optimization equipment and/or RF engineering planning tools including automatic frequency planning (AFP), automatic cell planning (ACP), performance prediction, and propagation modeling applications. Hands-no experience with commercially available drive test tools such as Ericsson TEMS and Anite/NEMO preferred.
• Adept making technical product presentations to external end user/customer audiences.
• Practical knowledge of all major wireless telecommunications air-interface standards such as GSM, CDMA, iDEN, WCDMA, CDMA, EVDO, WiMAX, and LTE.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Skilled in interacting cross functionally with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and with external customer and vendors
• Strong communications and organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of software tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Access.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel when required.
