Position Description
Washington DC- based technical training program seeks qualified skilled trades instructors for full-time and/or part-time, day and/or evening positions in:
ºPlumbing
ºMasonry
ºElectrical
ºCarpentry
ºHVAC/R
New classes begin Fall 2008 in statee-of-the-art learning facility. Secure and Metro-accessible location with ample, well lighted parking. Learner population includes high school students who have met criteria for academy program and adult registered apprentices.
The successful candidate will possess:
ºlicense or certification in trade area; Masters License preferred;
º5 or more years experience in the trade;
ºhigh school diploma; 2 or 4 year degree preferred;
ºclearance to teach in public school system or ability to earn same; ºteacher certification in public school system or ability to earn samw; ºclassroom teaching experience preferred but not required;
ºcommitment to student achievement and quality of teaching and learning; ºexcellent verbal and written communication skills;
ºability to leverage and apply available technologies, including computers and hands-on learning equipment.
