Position Description

The Arc of Baltimore provides a comprehensive array of community-based support services to approximately 3,000 men, women, and children in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. The Arc has approximately 700 full and part time employees and provides services at seven major facilities and 100+ owned and leased residential sites located in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The Arc’s programs and services include vocational training, medical day care, landscape and janitorial employment services, other supported employment, residential care, individual and family support, treatment foster care, respite assistance, recreation, camping and leisure activities.

Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure that individual rights and dignity are respected and that the agency policy on normalization and the behavior management policies are actively supported. Implement sufficient, appropriate and relevant training programs and maintaining required data for assigned individual based on objectives developed by team members. Formulate written training programs, as appropriate, with the Case Managers and Psychologist. Complete monthly review process for individual training programs and other relevant individual records or reports. Provide individual behavioral services as assigned including providing transportation and support services as required. Provide staff augmentation and/or staff training as assigned. Function as agency contact with employer, providing information about employing people with developmental disabilities. Develop adaptive work methods as necessary to modification, task analysis and actual hand on hand job training. Initiate and maintain regular, positive and proactive communication with individual’s Case Manager and other persons personally and professionally connected to the individual’s case progress. Serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing individual plans.

Education & Requirements:

High school diploma/GED, Associates Degree prederred.

Three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Valid Maryland driver’s license, two years of driving experience, and clean driving record required.
